DEVELOPMENT PLAN

PPAP plans to further develop more infrastructures and facilities to better operate in the area of port services.

The Establishment of Sub-Feeder Multipurpose Terminals

The provinces located along the rivers are key areas for agricultural productions, but these products are mainly being transported via roads. Therefore, in order to promote the use of inland waterway transportation especially for heavy cargo, PPAP plans to expand its network of sub- feeder multipurpose terminals along the Mekong River and Tonle Sap.

The fourth phase infrastructure expansion at Container Terminal LM17

PPAP plans to further develop the fourth phase of port infrastructure expansion at Container Terminal LM17 in order to respond to the rapid growth of container throughput every year. Phase IV will occupy an area of 11,4 hectares, which will rise the total capacity of Container Terminal LM17 to 900,000 TEUs per year by 2027.

Development of a Special Economic Zone (SEZ)

PPAP plans to develop an area of Special Economic Zone located 3.5 kilometers in front of Container Terminal LM17 in order to bring more benefits for the investors, such as cost-effective gateway for the movement of cargoes, national economic growth, and to ensure the sustainability of container growth via PPAP.

Specialized Bulk Cargoes Terminal

While the traffic of containerized cargo continues to increase, the transport of break bulk cargoes has also been on the rise in recent years. Therefore, PPAP plans to develop a Specialized Bulk Cargoes Terminal within the vicinity of the Container Terminal LM17 in order to facilitate and ensure efficient and reliable break bulk handling operation.
